About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Reporting Engineer with a strong background in Power BI, data analysis, and advanced Excel. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys transforming complex datasets into meaningful business insights through intuitive dashboards, reports, and analytical models.
The successful candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, be comfortable working with large datasets, and demonstrate the ability to identify trends, uncover insights, and support business decision-making through data.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Gather, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources to deliver actionable business insights.
- Develop meaningful KPIs, scorecards, and executive-level reporting solutions.
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, opportunities, and business recommendations.
- Create data models, measures, and calculations using DAX.
- Build efficient data transformation processes using Power Query.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable reporting solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting assets.
- Optimise existing reports and dashboards for usability and performance.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analytical presentations to support business initiatives.
- Leverage advanced Excel capabilities for data manipulation, reconciliation, and analysis.
- Document reporting logic, data definitions, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Reporting, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Excellent knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookup functions, complex formulas, dashboards, and data analysis techniques.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to derive business insights from large datasets.
- Good understanding of data visualisation best practices.
- Experience working with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Azure data services or Microsoft Fabric.
- Exposure to ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is an advantage.
- Experience working in enterprise reporting environments.
- Knowledge of SAP data structures or ERP reporting is a plus.
