Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle HCM Cloud Consultant with 7–10 years of hands-on functional and technical experience to lead configuration, integration, and support workstreams across one or more Oracle HCM Cloud modules. The ideal candidate has completed at least one full life-cycle implementation, can independently gather requirements, design and configure solutions, build supporting reports/integrations, and guide junior consultants — while working under the direction of a Solution Architect or Project/Delivery Lead on overall design strategy.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Oracle HCM Cloud Consultant with 7–10 years of hands-on functional and technical experience to lead configuration, integration, and support workstreams across one or more Oracle HCM Cloud modules.
Responsibilities
- Requirement Gathering & Solution Design
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements; prepare functional design documents (FDDs) and configuration workbooks.
- Conduct solution design workshops and fit-gap analysis; propose solutions after appropriate due diligence.
- Translate business requirements into Oracle HCM Cloud configuration, working within the broader architecture defined for the engagement.
- Module Configuration
- Configure enterprise and workforce structures: Legal Entities, Business Units, Departments, Locations, Jobs, Job Families/Functions, Positions, Grades, and Grade Ladders (Core HR).
- Configure compensation elements: Grade Rates, eligibility profiles, compensation plans, Individual Compensation, and Workforce Compensation budgets/worksheets.
- Configure Absence Plans, accrual rules, eligibility profiles, work schedules, and absence certifications.
- Configure Payroll elements, calculation cards, element entries, balances, payment methods, and payroll flows (Quick Pay, Retro, Prepayments) where Payroll is in scope.
- Configure Benefits plans, programs, eligibility, and enrollment rules where Benefits is in scope.
- Configure Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) requisition, job posting, and candidate/onboarding workflows where ORC is in scope.
- Configure Talent, Goals, and Performance Management templates, profiles, and review processes where applicable.
- Configure approval workflows (BPM), HCM Security Console roles/data roles, and Areas of Responsibility (AORs).
- Build and manage Descriptive/Extensible Flexfields (DFF/EFF) for custom data capture.
- Technical Build: Integration, Migration & Reporting
- Develop and maintain Fast Formulas (Eligibility, Element, Extract, Onboarding, Approval types as relevant).
- Perform data migration/conversion using HCM Data Loader (HDL) and Spreadsheet Data Loader (HSDL/ADFdi).
- Build and validate HCM Extracts, OTBI analyses, and BI Publisher (BIP) reports (eText/RTF/Excel templates).
- Support inbound/outbound integrations via REST/SOAP APIs and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC); coordinate with technical/integration teams as needed.
- Write and tune SQL queries for reporting, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Support personalization and minor UI configuration via Page Composer/Application Composer, with working awareness of Redwood UI.
- Testing, Deployment & Support
- Perform unit testing, support System Integration Testing (SIT), and lead/support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through business sign-off.
- Participate in quarterly Oracle release patch/smoke/regression testing and update test scripts accordingly.
- Provide production and hypercare support; troubleshoot and resolve functional/technical issues, including coordination with Oracle Support (SRs).
- Track issue resolution against SLAs/KPIs and work to reduce recurring application issues.
- Prepare process flows, data-flow diagrams, design documents, and user training/onboarding materials.
- Deliver end-user training and conduct new-feature briefing sessions with clients/stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior consultants on the workstream.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, HR, Business, or a related field.
- Oracle Cloud HCM Certification preferred.
Required Skills
- Functional Expertise
- 5–10 years of Oracle HCM Cloud experience with at least one full life-cycle implementation.
- Strong functional knowledge of Core HR and at least one additional module (Compensation, Payroll, Absence, Benefits, ORC, or Talent Management).
- Solid understanding of enterprise/workforce structures, grade & rate management, and eligibility profiles.
- Working knowledge of Redwood UI and its impact on end-user processes.
- Strong client-facing skills: requirement gathering, solution design, testing support, and deployment.
- Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Fast Formula, HDL/HSDL, HCM Extracts, and OTBI/BI Publisher report development.
- Working knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for HCM integrations.
- DFF/EFF configuration and HCM Security Console (roles, data roles, AORs).
- Good knowledge of SQL for query tuning, validation, and data analysis.
- Practical experience with data migration/conversion activities.
- Exposure to Page Composer/Application Composer personalization; awareness of VBCS/VBS is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- 7–10 years of total IT/HR-technology consulting experience.
- At least 1–2 full life-cycle Oracle HCM Cloud implementations, plus support/enhancement/rollout experience.
- Experience working with global or multi-entity clients.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery methodology and tools such as JIRA.
