Position Overview:
The Senior Merchandiser will be responsible for overseeing the complete merchandising process from
development to delivery, acting as the critical link between buyers and production. This role demands
strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to manage client relationships, product
development, costing, sourcing, production tracking, and timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact between suppliers and internal departments (design,
production, QA, logistics).
Develop and manage critical paths from order receipt to final shipment, ensuring
adherence to timelines and quality expectations.
Work closely with design teams to execute seasonal collections in alignment with buyer
requirements and market trends.
Conduct cost negotiations and prepare cost sheets with detailed BOM (Bill of Materials).
Coordinate sample development, approvals (fit, fabric, trims, etc.), and size sets as per
buyer tech packs and requirements.
Monitor production schedules and WIP to ensure timely delivery and resolve potential
bottlenecks.
Source fabrics, trims, and accessories in line with buyer specs, ensuring cost-
effectiveness and quality compliance.
Ensure compliance with buyer standards and certifications (e.g., audits, testing
requirements, labeling laws).
Support documentation and coordination with suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Graduate in Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, or Textile Engineering (from
NIFT, Pearl Academy will be an added advantage).
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in apparel merchandising, preferably in sportswear or
activewear.
Strong understanding of product development, sampling, production, and textile
manufacturing.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, T&A trackers, and ERP systems.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple orders and tight deadlines.
Familiarity with compliance and supplier protocols.
