Job Description – Senior Mechanical Fitter
Location - Kannauj Uttar Pradesh
Salary - As per Industry standards
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI (Fitter/Mechanical) preferred.
- 6–10 years of hands-on experience in maintenance of industrial process plants.
- Experience with boilers, steam systems, rotating equipment and utilities is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
- Maintain pumps, gearboxes, valves, pipelines, bearings, mechanical seals, agitators and other rotating equipment.
- Install, dismantle, repair and reassemble mechanical equipment as required.
- Perform alignment, lubrication and replacement of worn-out machine components.
- Carry out fabrication, structural repair, welding and piping modification work as required.
- Ensure smooth operation of the plant's two process sheds engaged in steam distillation and solvent extraction.
- Support maintenance of the 10 TPH and 5 TPH boilers and associated steam distribution system.
- Assist in maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), chiller plant and cooling towers.
- Inspect pressure vessels, storage tanks, pipelines and utility equipment for mechanical defects.
- Diagnose equipment failures and report recurring problems to the maintenance supervisor.
- Participate in planned shutdowns and emergency breakdown maintenance.
- Coordinate with production, electrical and utility teams to minimise downtime.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in workshops, utility areas and production sections.
- Maintain maintenance records and report completion of assigned jobs.
- Assist in monitoring spare parts consumption and report material requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures while working with high-pressure steam systems and solvent handling areas.
- Use appropriate PPE and comply with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance.
- Ensure safe working practices while working at heights, in confined spaces and around rotating machinery.
- Report unsafe conditions and equipment abnormalities immediately.
Skills Required
- Skilled in arc welding, gas cutting, fabrication and repair of MS and SS structures, pipelines and equipment.
- Proficient in fitting, assembly, dismantling and alignment of industrial machinery.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance of pumps, gearboxes, valves, bearings, mechanical seals and piping systems.
- Ability to carry out pipe fabrication, flange fitting, gasket replacement and leak rectification.
- Knowledge of industrial boilers, steam distribution systems, condensate lines and utility equipment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, isometric piping drawings and P&IDs.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with the ability to identify and rectify mechanical defects independently.
- Willingness to work in shifts and attend emergency breakdowns whenever required.
