Senior Manager - Workday Payroll (US / Ca)
Location : Bangalore / Noida / Gurgaon / Pune
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Client’s HR Digital Transformation team. This role will be based in #Bangalore / #Noida / #Gurgaon / #Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

- Plan and prioritize tasks for self while leading Workday implementation projects by contributing to all stages of the delivery lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex Workday implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Oversee the team's workload, provide mentorship, conduct quality reviews throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Communicate project status and obstacles with the larger project team including Engagement Manager (EM), Project Manager (PM), and client to ensure timely project delivery.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, taking the lead on activities across all initiatives.
- Take full responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects.
- Provide leadership and work with key stakeholders with the necessary information and channels to make informed, timely decisions.
We will count on you to:
- Lead US/Canada payroll Projects and ability to work on multiple assignments.
- Ability to conduct Workshop Sessions independently and handle Customer queries and Address on time.
- Experience in configuring and customizing Workday Payroll module to meet the specific needs of the organization.
- Ability to Work as a team and coordinate the deliverables with other Consultants.
- Deliver solutions for in scope Payroll, Reporting/ Dashboards related Payroll for implementation.
- Identify scope, scope gaps & get them addressed.
- Identify right stakeholders in the project.
- Communicate & collaborate with project internal / external stakeholders for project success & plan inputs.
- Leading or participating in Workday implementation projects from planning to execution.
- Gather and document requirements, assess complexity and level of effort estimates, prioritizes capacity, and defines development and analysis timelines.
- Identify test scenarios, develop test scripts, and provide key support in Workday feature releases, security, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Mentor and Coach team members.
- Being flexible to work in multiple time zones, multiple teams.
- Drive Ops excellence culture and lead transformational project(s) with clear visible and measurable impact.
- Responsible for driving initiatives and ensuring results with a confined focus on timelines and quality.
- Excellent technical & functional skills across functional areas required for developing and delivering Payroll solutions across client implementations.
- Should have Payroll Parallel and History Load Experience.
- Excellent country-specific taxation knowledge and Payroll Year End Activities.

Qualification Criteria
What you need to have:
Qualifications & Experience
- BE/B.Tech/MCA/BSc with 10 -12 years total experience, including 7+ years in Workday
- Certified in country-specific Payroll (US or Canada)
- Proven consulting experience driving client-facing implementation projects
- Strong Payroll configuration knowledge and a clear understanding of how Workday modules interact and integrate
- Current on Workday releases and product roadmap; able to apply industry- and country-specific best practices
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging mid- and senior-level management
- Flexibility across shifts, locations and on-call support
Solution Design & Delivery
- Investigate client Payroll requirements with business analysts and architects; build consensus on needs and priorities
- Run client sessions to validate payroll requirements and complete requirement templates
- Present Workday Payroll capabilities to clients, design the solution, and hand over to junior consultants for build
- Lead DA reviews
- Research existing business processes and recommend the most efficient, cost-effective system design
- Support UAT with input into test cases for configuration changes
- Assist with production rollout and post-deployment production support
- Drive strategies that maximise use of the Workday platform to improve business processes and operational goals
Project & Programme Leadership
- Define project scope with stakeholders and manage delivery to the agreed plan
- Lead planning, execution and monitoring of implementations, upgrades and optimisation projects
- Own task estimation, prioritisation, risk identification and tracking to closure
- Review project health across leads on the Deployment team and manage workload through all delivery phases
- Coordinate with Functional Directors, EM/PM, clients, onsite leads and other stream leads
- Collate and report status and impediments to the wider project team
- Work with no supervision; act as project lead directing developers, analysts and testers
- Manage requirement scope, architect solutions with stakeholders, and escalate issues appropriately
People & Stakeholder Management
- Manage a team of Workday analysts, consultants and developers with guidance, mentorship and performance feedback
- Hold monthly 1:1s covering issues, R&R, skill matrix and IDP progress
- Mentor juniors on technical and behavioural competencies
- Partner with recruitment to shortlist, interview and select project staff
- Build retention strategies and control attrition
- Take timely action on stakeholder needs; identify and manage issue resolution including escalation
- Develop and manage communication plans that improve collaboration
- Contribute to internal initiatives, Workday product teams and IP development
- Work with senior management on future priorities and leverage synergies across global information systems
