About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help build highly performant TV applications.
You'll work closely with a global engineering team to improve rendering performance, memory efficiency, and user experience across web-based TV platforms. This role focuses on building performant web applications using modern rendering technologies rather than traditional React-based approaches.
We're expanding our search to Malaysia. The ideal setup would be relocation to Vietnam, though remote work from Malaysia could be considered for outstanding candidates.
What You'll Do
- Design and build highly performant web applications optimized for TV devices.
- Improve rendering performance, memory usage, and application responsiveness.
- Work with WebGL and canvas-based rendering technologies.
- Collaborate with engineers exploring Lightning V3, SolidJS, Blits, and similar modern rendering frameworks.
- Optimize complex user interfaces such as Home pages, Live TV experiences, and Electronic Program Guide (EPG) screens.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience developing production applications using LightningJS.
- Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript fundamentals.
- Experience building high-performance frontend applications with a focus on rendering and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of browser rendering, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.
- Good English communication skills for working with international teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WebGL or GPU-accelerated rendering.
- Experience developing Smart TV applications (Tizen, webOS, Android TV, Fire TV, or similar platforms).
- Experience with SolidJS.
- Experience optimizing applications for memory-constrained devices.
