Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and highly responsible Senior Finance & Business Operations Manager to lead our Accounts & Finance function while also overseeing day-to-day business operations.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Company Director and senior management and will be responsible for financial planning, business reporting, performance analysis, operational coordination, and supporting strategic business decisions.
This is a key management role requiring a combination of strong financial knowledge, business understanding, leadership ability, analytical skills, and the capability to coordinate effectively with Accounts, Logistics, Sales, and other business functions.
The candidate should be capable of working independently, identifying issues proactively, providing management with meaningful insights, and ensuring smooth coordination between various departments.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Accounts & Finance Leadership
- Lead and supervise the Accounts & Finance team and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the department.
- Oversee accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, customer/vendor ledgers, taxation, and finalization of accounts.
- Review and monitor GST, TDS and other statutory filings and compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and other financial stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of accounting and financial activities.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, payables, credit exposure, collections, and cash flows.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes.
2. Financial Planning & Management
- Prepare and monitor cash-flow planning, fund requirements, budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Provide financial inputs for business planning and strategic decisions.
- Monitor profitability, margins, expenses, working capital, and overall financial performance.
- Identify areas for cost optimization and improvement in profitability.
- Support management in evaluating financial implications of new business opportunities and commercial decisions.
3. MIS, Reporting & Business Analysis
- Prepare and present regular MIS and management reports for the Director.
- Develop meaningful reports covering sales, purchases, receivables, payables, inventory, profitability, cash flow, and business performance.
- Conduct product-wise, customer-wise and market-wise profitability analysis.
- Analyze actual performance against budgets, targets, and previous periods and highlight significant variances.
- Provide management with actionable financial and business insights for decision-making.
- Track key business performance indicators and ensure timely reporting.
4. Business Operations & Cross-Department Coordination
- Oversee and monitor the day-to-day functioning of various business activities in coordination with concerned departments.
- Coordinate closely with the Logistics Department regarding dispatches, deliveries, stock movement, transportation, customer requirements, and operational issues.
- Coordinate with Sales, Purchase, Accounts, and Logistics to ensure smooth execution of business transactions.
- Monitor operational bottlenecks and ensure timely resolution by coordinating with the relevant teams.
- Ensure proper flow of information between departments and management.
- Follow up on critical business matters and provide timely updates to the Director.
5. Strategic Support to the Director
- Work closely with the Director as a business and financial support function.
- Assist the Director in day-to-day business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare data, analysis, reports, and presentations required for management review.
- Support business planning, budgeting, forecasting, market evaluation, and growth initiatives.
- Track important action points and ensure timely follow-up and execution.
- Identify potential financial or operational risks and bring them to management's attention proactively.
- Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, commercial proposals, and strategic initiatives.
6. Fund Management & Working Capital
- Monitor daily cash position and overall liquidity.
- Plan fund requirements based on business commitments and expected collections.
- Monitor working capital cycle and optimize utilization of company funds.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions as required.
- Monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, overdue accounts, and collection efficiency.
- Provide management with regular updates on financial commitments and available funds.
7. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, guide, and supervise the Accounts & Finance team.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Ensure timely completion of departmental activities and reports.
- Establish effective processes, controls, and reporting systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline business processes.
- Ensure accountability and coordination across team members and departments.
- Take ownership and responsibility for new work, processes, systems, software, or business initiatives introduced by the management, depending on the nature and requirements of the assignment.

- Knowledge of ERP systems will be an added advantage.
Industry Experience
Experience in Oil, Petrochemicals, Lubricants, Base Oils, Chemicals, or a similar trading/manufacturing environment will be preferred.
Candidates with experience handling high-volume B2B commercial operations, working capital, logistics coordination, and management reporting will be considered favorably.
Qualification
Bachelor's + Master's Degree in Finance / Commerce / Accounting
CA / CMA qualification or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a senior Accounts & Finance / Finance & Operations / Business Finance role.
Candidates should have demonstrated experience in team handling, management reporting, financial planning, and coordination with senior management.
