Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable infrastructure to support Pakt’s AI-native hiring platform. This role includes building and managing CI/CD pipelines, optimizing deployment workflows, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of production systems. The Senior DevOps Engineer collaborates closely with software engineering teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, improve development workflows, and monitor system health using modern observability tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing cloud environments, performing system administration tasks, troubleshooting incidents, and driving best practices in DevOps, reliability engineering, and infrastructure automation. The role also involves contributing to architecture decisions, documenting operational processes, and mentoring team members on DevOps standards and tooling.
Qualifications
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills with tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar, and experience automating cloud infrastructure provisioning.
- Solid Software Development background (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript or similar) with ability to build tooling, integrations, and scripts to support DevOps workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and delivery, including designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins).
- Advanced System Administration capabilities, including user management, security hardening, backup and recovery, and performance tuning in distributed environments.
- Deep proficiency with Linux systems, including shell scripting, package management, networking, and troubleshooting in production environments.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring/alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices, including secrets management, identity and access management, and compliance-aware configurations.
