Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and highly execution-driven Senior Delivery Fleet Manager to lead and scale Gintaa’s delivery fleet operations.
The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of relevant experience in food delivery & last-mile fleet operations, with strong expertise in delivery partner acquisition, onboarding, activation, engagement, performance management, capacity planning, and city-level delivery operations.
The role will be responsible for ensuring adequate rider availability across operational zones, maintaining high delivery efficiency, controlling fleet costs, improving delivery partner retention, and ensuring a consistently reliable customer delivery experience.
Key Responsibilities1. Fleet Operations & Management
- Own end-to-end delivery fleet operations across assigned cities, clusters, and delivery zones.
- Ensure sufficient delivery partner availability based on order demand, peak hours, weekends, festivals, weather conditions, and promotional campaigns.
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly fleet deployment and capacity plans.
- Monitor rider availability, utilization, productivity, login patterns, and delivery performance.
- Identify supply-demand gaps and take corrective actions to maintain smooth delivery operations.
- Build scalable operating processes as Gintaa expands into new zones and markets.
2. Delivery Partner Acquisition & Onboarding
- Drive delivery partner acquisition based on city and zone-level manpower requirements.
- Manage sourcing channels including field recruitment, referrals, agencies, local networks, and digital acquisition.
- Ensure efficient onboarding, document verification, training, activation, and first-order completion.
- Track the complete rider funnel from Lead → Registration → Verification → Activation → First Delivery → Active Rider.
- Improve onboarding turnaround time and reduce drop-offs across the acquisition funnel.
- Develop referral and reactivation programs to maintain healthy fleet supply.
3. Fleet Performance & Productivity
- Define and track operational KPIs for delivery partners and fleet teams.
- Monitor metrics such as:
- Rider utilization and productivity
- Orders per rider
- Order acceptance rate
- Pickup and delivery turnaround time
- On-time delivery rate
- Order cancellation rate
- Rider login hours
- Cost per delivery
- Rider retention and churn
- Customer complaints related to delivery
- Identify underperforming zones, clusters, or rider groups and implement corrective action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement in fleet productivity without compromising delivery quality or rider safety.
4. Demand & Capacity Planning
- Work closely with Business, Restaurant Operations, Product, Marketing, and Analytics teams to forecast delivery demand.
- Build rider requirement models based on order volumes, geography, delivery distance, peak-hour demand, and historical trends.
- Ensure adequate rider supply during lunch and dinner peaks, weekends, festivals, campaigns, and high-demand periods.
- Develop contingency plans for unexpected spikes in demand or rider shortages.
5. Delivery Partner Engagement & Retention
- Build initiatives to improve delivery partner satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
- Understand rider pain points through regular field interactions, feedback sessions, and performance analysis.
- Design and recommend incentive, referral, recognition, and engagement programs.
- Monitor rider churn and develop targeted retention and reactivation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication of payout structures, incentives, operational processes, and platform updates to delivery partners.
6. Cost & Incentive Management
- Monitor and optimize delivery cost per order while maintaining fleet availability and service quality.
- Evaluate rider incentive structures based on demand, productivity, distance, peak periods, and operational requirements.
- Track incentive effectiveness and ensure programs generate measurable improvements in fleet availability and performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve unit economics through better fleet utilization, batching, zoning, and capacity management.
7. Delivery Quality & Customer Experience
- Ensure high standards of pickup and delivery performance across the fleet.
- Reduce delays, cancellations, failed deliveries, incorrect handling, and delivery-related customer complaints.
- Coordinate with restaurant operations teams to resolve pickup delays and operational bottlenecks.
- Establish escalation mechanisms for critical delivery incidents.
- Ensure delivery partners follow expected standards of professionalism, hygiene, food handling, customer interaction, and road safety.
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor City Fleet Managers, Area/Cluster Managers, Fleet Executives, Rider Onboarding teams, and field operations personnel.
- Set clear targets and performance expectations for fleet teams.
- Conduct regular operational reviews and field audits.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on ownership, speed, data-driven decision-making, and execution.
- Develop SOPs and training programs to standardize fleet operations across locations.
9. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure delivery partner onboarding and operations follow company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ensure required rider and vehicle documentation is appropriately verified.
- Promote road safety, responsible riding, food-handling standards, and operational discipline.
- Work with relevant internal teams to manage rider-related incidents, fraud, misconduct, and compliance issues.
- Ensure operational practices remain consistent with Gintaa's delivery-partner engagement framework.

Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in delivery fleet management, last-mile logistics, food delivery, quick commerce, and hyperlocal operations.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience managing sizable field/delivery teams or multi-zone operations.
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of gig-worker/delivery-partner operations and last-mile delivery economics.
- Experience managing delivery partner acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, and productivity.
- Strong knowledge of capacity planning, demand forecasting, fleet utilization, and incentive management.
- Comfortable working with operational dashboards, Excel/Google Sheets, MIS reports, and data-driven performance reviews.
- Experience working in high-volume, fast-paced, and geographically distributed operations.
