Role Description The Uber Black Driver Fleet Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, responsible for overseeing the performance and daily operations of a premium driver and vehicle fleet. This role involves coordinating driver schedules, monitoring vehicle utilization, and ensuring compliance with Uber Black standards and company policies. The Fleet Manager will collaborate closely with drivers to address operational issues, support high-quality customer service, and maintain safety and cleanliness standards across the fleet. Day-to-day responsibilities include tracking key performance metrics, resolving on-ground incidents, conducting driver briefings, and working with internal teams to optimize routes, uptime, and revenue. The role also requires building strong communication channels with drivers and partners, implementing process improvements, and supporting training and development initiatives for the driver team.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in fleet management, transportation operations, or similar roles overseeing drivers and vehicles.
- Ability to manage and coordinate professional drivers; familiarity with Truck Driving or Truck operations is beneficial.
- Valid commercial driving exposure or understanding of regulatory standards; CDL Class A experience or equivalent background is an advantage.
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with drivers, internal teams, and riders.
- Knowledge of mobility platforms (such as Uber), basic data analysis, and comfort using technology-driven tools for tracking performance.
- Proven organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, on-ground environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and local transportation regulations; experience in EV/CNG fleets is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
