We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern enterprise data platforms that support analytics, reporting, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Data Vault 2.0, Star Schema modeling, and Azure Cosmos DB, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and high-performing data solutions in cloud environments.
This role will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, data analysts, and AI teams to ensure robust data architecture, governance, and integration across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & Modeling
- Design and implement enterprise-grade data warehouse and lakehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Develop and maintain Star Schema dimensional models to support BI and reporting requirements.
- Design and implement Data Vault 2.0 architectures for scalable and auditable enterprise data platforms.
- Define data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
Data Engineering & Integration
- Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, Dataflows, Notebooks, and Spark.
- Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources into centralized data platforms.
- Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes for performance and reliability.
- Develop reusable frameworks and automated data processing solutions.
Cloud & Database Management
- Design and manage data solutions leveraging Azure Cosmos DB.
- Implement and optimize NoSQL database structures, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning.
- Ensure scalability, availability, and security of cloud-based data platforms.
- Support integration between Cosmos DB, Fabric Lakehouse, and enterprise applications.
Data Governance & Quality
- Implement data quality, lineage, and governance standards.
- Monitor data pipelines and resolve data integrity issues proactively.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business users to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
- Participate in architecture reviews and strategic technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Data Platform Development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven expertise in Data Vault 2.0 methodology and implementation.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Star Schema dimensional models.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB and NoSQL data modeling.
- Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
- Experience with Python, PySpark, or Spark-based data processing.
- Experience working with Azure Data Services and cloud-native architecture.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Power BI.
- Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and analytics platforms.
- Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
