Role Description The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee core accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. This full-time, on-site role in Ahmedabad involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations. The Senior Accountant will analyze financial data to provide insights for management, assist with audits, and maintain robust internal controls and documentation. The role also includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior accounting staff, and contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Qualifications
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Proficiency in taxation and regulatory compliance, including local tax laws, indirect taxes, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Comfort with accounting software and ERP systems, along with strong Excel and data management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls and efficient accounting processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams and guide junior staff.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments.
- Ability to work on-site in Ahmedabad on a full-time basis and manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
