Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat. The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements. Responsibilities include overseeing statutory and tax compliance, supporting audits, assisting in GST and income tax filings, and preparing working papers and schedules for partners. The role involves reviewing work done by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards, and providing guidance and training where needed. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with partners and clients on financial analysis, reporting, and advisory assignments, helping deliver timely, high-quality services.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and financial reporting skills, including ledger management, reconciliations, and preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Proficiency in audit and assurance practices, with experience supporting statutory audits, internal audits, and documentation of working papers.
- Solid knowledge of taxation, especially GST and income tax compliance, return preparation, and basic tax advisory.
- Experience with accounting software and MS Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to clients and team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a professional services environment.
- Relevant professional qualification such as CA Inter, MBA (Finance), or a bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; completed CA or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in a chartered accountancy firm or consulting environment is preferred; exposure to clients
