Role Description The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and reviewing bookkeeping, month-end and year-end accounts, and financial statements for UK-based clients. Daily tasks include preparing and reviewing reconciliations, overseeing payroll and VAT returns, supporting tax computations, and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves supervising junior team members, resolving complex accounting queries, coordinating with client-facing teams, and supporting process improvements. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with technology tools and AI-supported workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency in deliverables. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including experience with bookkeeping, month-end and year-end close, and preparation of statutory accounts.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax concepts, VAT, and compliance requirements relevant to UK accountancy practices.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting software and Excel, and be comfortable working with technology-enabled and AI-supported workflows.
- Candidates should possess skills in review, analysis, and attention to detail to identify errors, reconcile accounts, and ensure accuracy in financial data.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with UK clients, internal teams, and to mentor junior staff.
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent, with several years of experience in accounting or outsourcing firms, preferably supporting UK clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Experience in process improvement, standardization of workflows, and quality control within an accounting outsourcing or shared services environment is beneficial.
