Job Description — SAP S/4HANA Techno-Functional Lead (Finance)

CTC Range: ₹35–40 Lakhs per annum
Role Summary
We are seeking a seasoned SAP S/4HANA Finance Techno-Functional Lead to drive modern finance transformation in a manufacturing (metals/steel) environment. The role centres on S/4HANA Finance — the Universal Journal, real-time reporting, embedded analytics and continuous close — with strong hands-on Financial Accounting expertise. The ideal candidate combines deep FI capability with a modern, data-driven finance mindset and sound technical and integration skills. Basic Controlling integration is expected, but the emphasis is firmly on Finance.
Key Responsibilities
● Own hands-on configuration and issue resolution across SAP S/4HANA Finance — General Ledger (Universal Journal / ACDOCA), Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting and Taxation (GST / withholding).
● Drive modern finance capabilities — real-time financial reporting, embedded analytics, Fiori-based finance apps, continuous/soft close and Advanced Financial Closing.
● Own month-end / year-end financial close — reconciliations, accruals, foreign currency valuation, GL/subledger tie-outs and statutory reporting readiness.
● Leverage the Universal Journal and Fiori analytical apps to deliver self-service, drill-down financial insight for leadership and finance users.
● Serve as the go-to expert for BAU support, root-cause analysis and timely resolution of production issues raised by finance and business users.
● Manage and get deliverables completed through external vendors and implementation partners — reviewing designs, validating configurations and holding partners accountable to timelines and quality.
● Ensure clean integration of Finance with procure-to-pay (MM) and order-to-cash (SD) flows; maintain the FI–CO integration points needed for cost postings.
● Prepare functional specifications for enhancements, coordinate with ABAP/technical teams and perform functional testing.
Required Skills & Experience
● 14–15 years of overall SAP experience with a strong core in Finance (FI).
● Minimum 3–4 end-to-end S/4HANA (or ECC-to-S/4) implementation cycles, from blueprint through go-live and hypercare.
● Deep FI configuration expertise — G/L, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank, Taxation and GST localisation for India.
● Hands-on with modern S/4HANA Finance — Universal Journal (ACDOCA), Fiori finance apps, embedded analytics and continuous close.
● Working knowledge of FI–CO integration (cost centres, profit centres, cost postings) — enough to keep finance flows clean, without being a CO specialist.
● Sound technical grounding — able to read/debug functional-technical issues, write clear functional specs and work closely with ABAP developers.
● Prior experience in manufacturing / metals / process industry strongly preferred.
● Proven ability to manage vendor partners and drive issue closure independently.
● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

● Experience supporting a live/production SAP landscape in a plant environment.
