Role Description:
The Software Development Intern will receive practical training and hands-on experience in software development, including web application development, debugging, testing, documentation, maintenance, feature implementation, and working with modern development tools and technologies under supervision.
The internship is designed to provide structured learning and practical exposure to real-world software development workflows. Interns will work under the guidance of the company’s trainers/supervisors and gradually take on development responsibilities based on their skills, learning progress, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with development and enhancement of web and software applications.
- Implement features and improvements under supervision.
- Debug, test, and troubleshoot application issues.
- Write clean, understandable, and maintainable code.
- Assist with database, API, frontend, and backend development as applicable to the intern’s skill set.
- Participate in testing, documentation, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Monitor and maintain assigned application features and functionality.
- Understand existing codebases and learn how real-world software products are developed and maintained.
- Follow Git/version-control practices and the company’s development and security guidelines.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and blockers clearly to the assigned trainer/supervisor.
- Learn and apply appropriate software development practices throughout the internship.
Learning & Development
During the internship, interns will receive practical exposure to software development processes, including planning, implementation, debugging, testing, maintenance, documentation, version control, and working with existing software systems.
Responsibilities may increase gradually as the intern demonstrates understanding, reliability, and technical capability.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of programming concepts.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, PHP, or another relevant language.
- Basic understanding of web development is beneficial.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, APIs, or Git is an advantage.
- Good logical and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and understand existing codebases.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work responsibly in a remote environment.
- No extensive professional experience is required; candidates with strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
