RPA Engineer
About The Role
ERIC Robotics is looking for an
RPA Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain automation workflows that reduce repetitive manual work and improve business efficiency. This is a
full-time position based in Pune, with
3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
The role involves understanding business processes, identifying automation opportunities, and building reliable solutions using RPA platforms, scripting, and system integrations.
The RPA Engineer will take ownership of assigned initiatives from process discovery and solution design through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The role also involves establishing development standards and guiding junior developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Analysis and Automation Design
- Analyse business processes and identify repetitive, rule-based activities suitable for automation.
- Document requirements and prepare Process Definition Documents (PDDs) and Solution Design Documents (SDDs).
- Design scalable, maintainable automation workflows.
- Assess automation opportunities based on effort, risk, and expected business value.
- RPA Development and Integration
- Develop automation solutions using UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Microsoft Power Automate.
- Integrate workflows with ERP and CRM systems, web applications, email, Excel-based processes, and internal tools.
- Build automations using user-interface interactions, APIs, and OCR or document-processing tools.
- Create reusable components and follow development best practices.
- Testing, Deployment and Support
- Test workflows for expected behaviour, exceptions, and edge cases.
- Deploy automations to production and provide support after release.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot failures, and improve existing workflows.
- Maintain clear technical documentation.
- Automation Ownership and Leadership
- Own assigned automation projects from process discovery to deployment and benefit tracking.
- Manage the automation backlog and delivery roadmap for assigned functions.
- Establish development standards and review workflows before release.
- Guide junior developers and coordinate with process owners on feasibility, timelines, and performance.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Work with business, IT, and engineering teams to translate requirements into automation solutions.
- Provide updates on project progress, automation performance, business impact, and return on investment.
Requirements
Educational Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on RPA experience preferred, including design, development, and deployment.
- Experience delivering automation workflows into production.
- Experience working within a structured software development or Agile environment.
Technical Skills – Must Have
- Strong understanding of RPA concepts and the automation lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with at least one RPA platform: UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or Power Automate.
- Programming or scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or a similar language.
- Understanding of process mapping, workflow design, and flowcharts or BPMN.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, REST/SOAP APIs, and Git.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Good to Have
- Certification in an RPA platform.
- Experience with AI/ML, NLP, computer vision, or generative AI in automation.
- Exposure to Power Apps, AI Builder, Copilot Studio, or Microsoft Teams integrations.
- Experience with OCR, document understanding, monitoring dashboards, or workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum practices.
- Experience automating processes in manufacturing, logistics, finance, or similar enterprise functions.
