Role Description The Retail Designer will be responsible for developing creative and functional retail and interior concepts for commercial spaces, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and customer experience objectives. Day-to-day tasks include space planning, layout design, and detailed drawings for stores, showrooms, and promotional fixtures, as well as collaborating with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure designs are feasible and on budget. The person in this role will work on integrating graphic elements, signage, and visual merchandising components into the overall design, and will visit sites to monitor implementation quality and resolve design issues. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, requiring close coordination with internal teams and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Retail Design and Retail environments, with an understanding of customer flow and brand experience.
- Proficiency in Space Planning and Interior Design for commercial and store layouts.
- Ability to integrate Graphic Design into interiors, including signage, branding, and visual merchandising elements.
- Experience using design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite) for concept development and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Design, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of materials, fixtures, retail construction methods, and basic project coordination; prior experience in commercial or retail projects is an advantage.
