Role Description This is a full-time on-site Retail Cashier role based at Reliance Centro in Nashik. The Retail Cashier is responsible for operating the billing counter, processing customer purchases accurately, handling cash, cards, and digital payments, and issuing receipts. The role includes greeting customers, responding to basic product or price inquiries, and ensuring queues move efficiently while maintaining a polite and professional demeanor. Daily tasks involve balancing the cash drawer, reconciling transactions, reporting any discrepancies, and following company policies for returns, exchanges, and discounts. The Retail Cashier also helps maintain cleanliness and order around the checkout area, supports basic store operations, and collaborates with the store team to deliver a smooth shopping experience.
Qualifications
- Strong numerical aptitude and basic math skills for handling cash, card, and digital transactions with accuracy.
- Customer service skills, including clear communication, patience, and a friendly, professional approach in a busy retail environment.
- Attention to detail for verifying prices, bills, discounts, and receipts, and for identifying and resolving transaction discrepancies.
- Ability to work on-site in Nashik in a full-time retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak hours as required.
- Basic familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, barcode scanning, and digital payment methods; prior cashier or retail experience is an advantage.
- Reliability, integrity, and adherence to cash-handling, safety, and company policies, with a willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures.
- Minimum educational qualification of high school diploma or equivalent; proficiency in local language and basic English is beneficial.
