Overview Of The Job
Saint-Gobain Innovation Hub India in Chennai, is looking for Research Engineer in Competency Research Lab. In this role the expectation is to support R&D projects related to construction and industrial related materials such as polymer, Gypsum, Glass, and Ceramics. Candidate should have good understanding of chemical engineering and Rheology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting research and development activities related to material characterization and innovation
- Design and implement experiments for characterization and testing of materials
- Utilize various characterization techniques such as Rheometer. Knowledge ofTGA, DSC will be an advantage
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and products
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of material science
- High adherence to safety policy of Saint-Gobain
- To independently manage to calibrate and trouble shoot instruments such as Rheometer
- Support all SG businesses for needs in terms of Rheology, thermal properties along with data interpretation and timely reporting
- Developing new test methods
Desired Skill & Knowledge
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge on polymer, composites, rheology, and thermodynamics
- Hands-on experience with characterization and testing of polymers and composite materials.
- Familiarity with characterization using Rheometer
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good knowledge on Rheology and Thermal Analysis
- Good in interpretation on characterization & tests reports
- Should possess good time-management skills and should be able to prioritize based on requirement in dynamic work culture
- Basic knowledge on statistical tools
- Should possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Mandatory to have good presentation skill to convey message in concise manner
Education
- Master’s in chemical engineering with 1-2 years of experience
