Role Description This full-time on-site Reporter role at MM Group is based in Bokaro. The Reporter will gather information from multiple sources, conduct interviews, and verify facts to produce accurate and timely news content. Daily responsibilities include covering local events and issues, developing story ideas, writing clear and engaging news articles, and collaborating with editors and multimedia teams to package stories for different platforms. The role also involves maintaining professional relationships with sources, monitoring breaking news, and adapting coverage to evolving editorial priorities. The Reporter is expected to meet deadlines consistently, follow ethical journalism standards, and represent MM Group responsibly in the community.
Qualifications
- Strong reporting skills with the ability to research, investigate, and verify information from diverse sources.
- Clear and concise writing and news writing skills, with the ability to tailor content to different audiences and formats.
- Effective communication skills, including interviewing, source relationship management, and collaboration with editorial and production teams.
- Basic multimedia skills, such as working with photos, video, and digital publishing tools to support storytelling.
- Understanding of journalistic ethics, accuracy, and fairness in news coverage.
- Ability to work on-site in Bokaro, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with local issues in Bokaro and surrounding regions, and interest in community-focused reporting.
- Comfort with using newsroom software, content management systems, and online research tools.
