Role Description The Junior Financial Journalist will work full time on-site in Mumbai, producing clear, accurate, and engaging content on financial markets, policy developments, and industry trends. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching financial topics, conducting interviews with experts and stakeholders, and writing news articles, features, and analysis pieces tailored to finance professionals and learners. The role involves monitoring market movements, regulatory updates, and global economic events, and translating complex information into accessible narratives across digital and new media platforms. The Junior Financial Journalist will collaborate with editors, analysts, and subject-matter experts to ensure factual accuracy, balanced reporting, and alignment with Equalifi’s educational objectives. The position also includes supporting social and multimedia content, participating in editorial meetings, and contributing ideas for coverage that enhance Equalifi’s thought leadership in financial education.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Business Journalism and Finance, with the ability to interpret market data, policy announcements, and corporate developments.
- Excellent Writing skills, including news writing, feature writing, and clear explanatory content for diverse professional audiences.
- Proficiency with New Media platforms, including online publishing tools, social media, and basic multimedia storytelling.
- Solid Research skills, including sourcing information from credible databases, regulatory filings, expert interviews, and industry reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Economics, Finance, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
- Strong English language proficiency, with attention to accuracy, structure, and tone; familiarity with financial terminology is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
- Interest in financial education, professional development, and staying updated on global and domestic financial sector developments.
- Prior internship or entry-level experience in financial reporting, business media, or content production is an advantage.
