Role Description The Reporter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bijapur. The reporter will research and cover topics related to FIDIC contracts, construction, engineering, and project management, producing clear and accurate articles, reports, and summaries for publication. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting interviews with industry professionals, attending relevant events or meetings, verifying information and sources, and transforming complex contractual concepts into accessible content. The reporter will collaborate with editors and subject-matter experts, adhere to editorial guidelines and deadlines, and help maintain consistent, high-quality coverage across print and digital channels. The role also involves monitoring industry trends and updates to ensure timely, relevant reporting for FIDIC’s audience.
Qualifications
- Strong reporting and writing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical or legal topics in clear, accessible language.
- Experience with research, fact-checking, and source verification in journalism or related fields.
- Familiarity with construction, engineering, project management, or contract management concepts (FIDIC contract knowledge is an advantage).
- Excellent communication and interviewing skills, with the ability to engage a diverse professional audience.
- Ability to work on-site in Bijapur, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to impartial, non-discriminatory reporting.
- Proficiency with digital publishing tools and basic office software; experience with social media or online community engagement is beneficial.
