Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Mysore. The Reporter will research, gather, and verify information related to the tech startup and financial services ecosystem, and produce clear, accurate news stories and articles. Daily responsibilities include conducting interviews, attending relevant events or meetings, monitoring industry developments, and transforming complex financial and business topics into accessible content. The role involves writing timely reports, creating multimedia content where needed, collaborating with internal teams for publication planning, and ensuring adherence to editorial standards and deadlines. The Reporter is expected to maintain ethical reporting practices and contribute ideas for new angles, features, and stories that highlight Gocount’s work and the broader startup community.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to cover complex business and finance topics clearly.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills, including interviewing, storytelling, and audience-focused content creation.
- Candidates should possess basic Multimedia skills, such as handling photos, simple video or audio, and collaborating on digital formats.
- Candidates should demonstrate strong research abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy and ethical journalism.
- Relevant experience in business, finance, or tech journalism is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Mysore, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, content management systems, and social media platforms is an advantage.
