About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Vice President – Debt Capital Markets (DCM) to join our Mumbai team. The role will be responsible for DCM origination, structured finance transactions, credit analysis, deal structuring, client acquisition, and execution across NBFCs, MFIs, HFCs, and Corporate clients.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Debt Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Credit Analysis, Financial Products, and Corporate Relationships, along with excellent business development and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand clients’ business models, products, management profiles, business plans, funding requirements, and financial statements to evaluate overall credit quality.
- Conduct fundamental and financial analysis, including ratio analysis, cash-flow assessment, and credit evaluation.
- Prepare Product Notes, Credit Notes, and detailed credit research on prospective entities.
- Develop Term Sheets and Cash Flow models for Structured Finance and SFP transactions.
- Structure and execute Structured Finance / DCM transactions based on issuer and investor requirements.
- Develop appropriate credit covenants, pool filters, and transaction structures to achieve deal efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on entity profiles, transaction structures, deal economics, and investment opportunities.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across NBFCs, MFIs, HFCs, and Corporate clients.
- Engage with senior management and promoters to understand fund-raising requirements through TL, NCD, and credit-enhanced structures.
- Drive deal origination, client acquisition, transaction structuring, and closure.
- Coordinate with issuers and internal teams for end-to-end deal sourcing and execution.
- Manage relationships with Trustees, Legal Counsels, Rating Agencies, RTAs, Depositories, and other transaction partners.
- Track market developments, DCM transactions, credit ratings, sector trends, regulatory changes, and market innovations.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients and identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Travel across India for client meetings and business development activities as required.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong Corporate Networking and Business Development capabilities.
- Good understanding of Debt Capital Markets and Financial Products.
- Strong knowledge of Structured Finance / Debt Products.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to independently manage senior client relationships and drive transactions.
Desired Skills
- Strong Credit Analysis and Financial Analysis skills.
- Knowledge of Fundamental Analysis, Ratio Analysis, Cash Flow Analysis, and Credit Assessment.
- Experience in preparing Credit Notes, Term Sheets, Financial Models, and Investor Presentations.
- Understanding of Structured Finance products and innovative transaction structures.
- Ability to understand complex client businesses and interact confidently with CXOs, promoters, and senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel and meet clients across India.
Qualification
MBA / PGDM / CA / CFA / FRM or equivalent qualification in Finance from a reputed institution.
Preferred Background
Candidates with experience in Debt Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Credit, NBFCs, Banks, Rating Agencies, or Financial Services will be preferred.
