Role Description The Rehabilitation Medical Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing and coordinating medical rehabilitation services for patients with chronic and complex conditions. The role involves conducting clinical assessments, formulating rehabilitation plans, and monitoring patient progress in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The Rehabilitation Medical Officer works closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and counselors to ensure continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based protocols. Daily responsibilities include managing patient rounds, documenting medical histories and treatment updates, providing patient and family education, and supporting transition plans between hospital, rehabilitation, and home care settings. The role also includes participation in clinical meetings, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and providing training and guidance to clinical staff on rehabilitation best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine with relevant clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, or related specialties.
- Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including clinical assessment, treatment planning, and compassionate communication with patients and families.
- Ability to provide Training and mentorship to junior medical staff and allied health professionals on rehabilitation protocols and patient management.
- Experience Working with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, align treatment goals, and ensure continuity across settings.
- Exposure to or understanding of Surgery-related rehabilitation needs, including pre- and post-operative care, is an advantage.
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution; additional certification or training in rehabilitation medicine or related fields is preferred.
- Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical workflows.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple cases, and maintain a patient-centered, ethical approach to care.
