About Kilwar
Kilwar is an AI-driven software studio building scalable, production-grade products across logistics, eCommerce, blockchain, and cloud infrastructure.
We are currently building a logistics platform that connects shippers and drivers across web and mobile. The platform spans operational dashboards, customer and driver applications, APIs, payments, maps, live tracking, chat, and real-time dispatch workflows.
We are looking for a QA Engineer who thinks beyond test cases — someone who understands how a product should behave, actively looks for what can go wrong, and takes ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with engineering and product teams and have direct ownership of quality across our web, mobile, API, and real-time systems.
What you'll own
You will be responsible for the quality of the product across:
Web: Admin & Operations Dashboard built with Next.js / React
Mobile: Customer and Driver applications built with React Native
Platforms: iOS and Android
APIs: REST APIs supporting the complete shipment lifecycle
Real-time systems: Dispatch, live tracking, chat, notifications, and location updates
Critical workflows: Live Product Lifecycle
What you'll do
Define and execute risk-based test strategies for new features and releases.
Design comprehensive test scenarios covering functional, negative, boundary, integration, regression, and end-to-end cases.
Perform hands-on testing across web, iOS, and Android.
Conduct exploratory testing to identify issues that aren't covered by predefined test cases.
Validate complex workflows across multiple systems, devices, users, and states.
Test real-time functionality under different network conditions, device states, and connectivity scenarios.
Test REST APIs using Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools, including positive, negative, validation, and edge-case scenarios.
Investigate production issues, reproduce failures, analyse logs, and work with engineering teams to identify root causes.
Write precise, actionable, and reproducible defect reports.
Own defect lifecycle from identification through verification and closure.
Perform release validation and regression testing while ensuring critical business flows remain stable.
Review requirements and technical specifications early and identify gaps, ambiguities, and potential quality risks before development is complete.
Work closely with developers and product managers to establish clear acceptance criteria.
Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, release practices, and overall engineering quality.
Gradually contribute to automation and help identify areas where automation can provide meaningful regression coverage.
What we expect from you
3+ years of professional QA experience testing web and mobile products.
Strong fundamentals in software testing and quality engineering.
Proven hands-on experience with manual testing of production applications.
Strong experience testing iOS and Android applications across multiple devices and OS versions.
Experience testing React / React Native applications is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, exploratory, system, and end-to-end testing.
Practical experience with API testing using Postman, Insomnia, or equivalent tools.
Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira.
Ability to understand complex business workflows and translate requirements into effective test scenarios.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail — particularly around edge cases, state transitions, data integrity, and user experience.
Ability to investigate an issue rather than simply report a symptom.
Strong written communication and the ability to produce high-quality defect reports and test documentation.
Comfortable working directly with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Good to have
Experience with Playwright, Selenium Appium, Javascript, Typescript, Python or other automation frameworks.
Experience testing real-time systems, WebSockets, push notifications, maps, or location-based features.
Experience with logistics, transportation, marketplace, fintech, or other transaction-heavy products.
Familiarity with application logs, debugging tools, network inspection, and basic SQL.
Experience working in fast-paced product teams where QA is involved early in the development cycle.
How we think about QA at Kilwar
We don't see QA as the final checkpoint before a release.
Quality starts with understanding the product, questioning requirements, identifying risk, and working with engineering from the beginning.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable asking:
What happens if this fails halfway through?
What happens when the network drops?
What happens when two things happen at the same time?
What happens when the data is incomplete or inconsistent?
What happens on a different device or OS version?
What happens when the user does something we didn't expect?
If you naturally think this way, you'll fit well here.
Why Kilwar?
Work on a real product with real users and real operational complexity
Own quality across web, mobile, APIs, and real-time systems
Work directly with engineering and product teams
Be involved early rather than being brought in only before release
Small, high-ownership team with fast development cycles
Opportunity to build and improve QA practices as the product scales
Exposure to modern technologies across React, React Native, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and real-time systems
- If you're a QA engineer who enjoys breaking complex systems, understanding how they work, and helping teams build better software — we'd like to talk.
