We're Hiring: Protection Design Engineer (High Voltage) ⚡
Afrima Consulting Engineering Pvt Ltd is looking for a self-driven, adaptable Protection Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience in high voltage protection design for utility-scale installations.
What you'll bring:
🔹 Protection schemes: Hands-on knowledge of HV schemes across utility-scale configurations (Double Busbar, One and Half Breaker, Wrap Around), including Differential, Distance, Bias Differential, Busbar Protection, Auto-Recloser, Circuit Breaker Management, Synchronising and Voltage Selection
🔹 IED & scheme design: Ability to read, understand and design control and protection schemes using the latest IED relays
🔹 Design documentation: Producing cable block diagrams and cable core schedules, interfacing with Primary, Telecontrol, Telecommunication and AC/DC equipment
🔹 System studies: Understanding of short-circuit, load flow, arc flash and insulation coordination methodologies using ETAP, PLS-CAD or similar tools
🔹 Equipment specification: Preparing technical requirements and datasheets for CTs, VTs, control panels and battery systems, plus CT, VT and DC system calculations
🔹 Communications: Designing interfaces between protection relays, RTUs and SCADA networks using IEC 61850, DNP3 or Modbus
🔹 Standards compliance: Working from specifications to ensure designs meet utility regulations and standards (IEEE, IEC, national grid codes)
