Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to deliver project management services for Point-of-Sale (POS) rollouts, ensuring the customer implementation process runs efficiently and meets expectations. The Project Manager acts as a liaison between the Sales, Deployment, Support, Services, Development, and Marketing departments and the customer. In this role, you will coordinate all installation-related activities for new and existing customers requiring on-site and remote management, including database construction, credit card processing setup, register area preparation, and networking and power management.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, with a 1-hour unpaid break; Full-time, 40 work hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Organize introductory meetings with the Sales Executive and customer to understand and review the project once a signed contract and deposit are received.
- Work with assigned customer accounts to determine goals and objectives.
- Create and assign project issues with clear goals and associated target dates for each implementation task, monitoring and updating them on a regular basis.
- Create Support Desk issues as needed and monitor communication and updates until resolved during the installation process.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings with customers on a regular basis, providing agendas and detailed action steps.
- Work with the Deployment and Inventory departments to ensure equipment is pulled and staged according to customer requirements prior to shipment.
- Assist with documenting specific customer requirements when new product enhancements are required.
- Work with Development and Sales teams to prepare estimates and specifications following Contractual Commitment Corporate Policy, managing timelines and keeping customers informed.
- Manage phased rollouts for multi-store sites requiring multiple on-site visits for installation and training, creating project plans aligned with customer expectations.
- Schedule on-site and remote resources to meet the implementation schedule, updating and reporting on project installation schedules weekly to reduce resource conflicts.
- Conduct post-implementation project summary meetings with customers to review the process, project results, and customer satisfaction levels before closing each project.
Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in project management, implementation, or project coordination.
- Strong ability to manage project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and multiple priorities.
- Experience coordinating on-site and remote teams/resources and managing phased or multi-location rollouts.
- Excellent client-facing, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to coordinate across Sales, Support, Development, Deployment, Inventory, and other teams.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, hardware, software, and system implementations.
- Proficiency with project management, ticketing, or issue-tracking tools.
- Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, follow-through, and ability to manage changing requirements.
- Ability to identify risks, resolve roadblocks, and keep projects on schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, IT, Project Management, or a related field (Equivalent experience considered).
- Experience managing software, hardware, IT, POS, retail technology, or system implementations.
- Experience with POS, payment processing, databases, or retail technology.
- PMP certification.
