POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
Responsible for developing and maintaining production and material plans to ensure on-time delivery to customers while optimizing inventory, capacity utilization, and resource availability. The Planner acts as the key link between Sales, SIOP, Project Management, Engineering, SCM, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Principal Activities
Production Planning
Develop and maintain weekly and monthly production plans based on customer demand and business priorities.
Convert customer orders and forecasts into executable manufacturing schedules.
Balance production capacity, manpower availability, and material constraints.
Monitor production progress and proactively resolve planning issues.
Demand & SIOP Support
Participate in SIOP reviews and consensus planning meetings.
Analyze demand trends, backlog, forecast accuracy, and capacity requirements.
Highlight risks, constraints, and recovery actions during planning reviews.
Material Planning & Coordination
Ensure material availability in line with the production schedule.
Coordinate with SCM and suppliers to mitigate shortages and delivery risks.
Track critical bought-out items, castings, forgings, and long lead materials.
Support inventory optimization initiatives.
Project & Order Management
Review customer orders and establish realistic execution plans.
Monitor milestones from order registration through dispatch.
Coordinate with Project Management and Engineering to ensure timely release of BOMs, drawings, and technical documents.
Escalate delays and drive corrective actions.
Capacity & Resource Planning
Evaluate machine loading and manpower utilization.
Identify bottlenecks and recommend capacity improvements.
Support make-vs-buy decisions and subcontracting requirements when necessary.
ERP & Data Management
Maintain planning data accuracy within the ERP system.
Ensure routing, lead times, BOMs, and planning parameters are updated.
Generate planning reports and track key performance indicators.

Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 10-15 years of experience in Production Planning, Supply Planning, or Materials Planning.
- Experience in manufacturing environments involving machining, assembly, or Valve/pump/equipment manufacturing preferred.
