Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Purchase Executive / Officer – RM & PM (Raw Material & Packing Material) to manage the end-to-end procurement activities for raw materials and packing materials required for uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
The role will be responsible for material planning, vendor coordination, purchase order processing, price negotiation, supplier development, delivery follow-up, and inventory coordination. The candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Stores, QA, QC, R&D, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the timely availability of materials while maintaining the required standards of quality, cost, and delivery.
The ideal candidate should have experience in purchasing pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, herbal, Ayurvedic, FMCG, or manufacturing-related raw and packing materials.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end procurement of Raw Materials (RM) and Packing Materials (PM) as per business and production requirements.
- Review material requirements and coordinate with PPC/Production/Stores for timely procurement planning.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Float enquiries and obtain quotations from approved and potential suppliers.
- Compare quotations and negotiate price, payment terms, quality, MOQ, lead time, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements and company procedures.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of RM and PM.
- Coordinate with Stores, QA/QC, Production, and other departments regarding material availability and quality status.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and proactively address supply delays or shortages.
- Maintain proper procurement records, vendor details, quotations, POs, and related documentation.
- Support vendor evaluation and performance monitoring based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC team for material quality issues, rejections, and supplier corrective actions.
- Assist in developing alternate suppliers and ensuring continuity of critical materials.
- Monitor market trends and material price movements to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company procurement policies.
- Ensure procurement activities are conducted in line with applicable GMP, quality, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounts for invoice-related issues and payment follow-ups, wherever required.
- Prepare regular reports on purchase status, pending orders, material availability, vendor performance, and cost savings.
Qualifications & Skills- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in Purchase/Procurement of Raw Materials and Packing Materials.
- Experience in Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Herbal, Ayurvedic, FMCG, or Manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Good knowledge of RM and PM procurement processes and vendor management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/Purchase software.
- Strong follow-up, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements and meet material delivery timelines.
- Knowledge of vendor evaluation, purchase documentation, and inventory coordination will be an advantage.

Preferred Experience3–5 years of relevant experience in RM & PM Purchase/Procurement, preferably from the Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Herbal, Ayurvedic, FMCG, or Manufacturing industry.
