Role Description The Principal/Dean – Science will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Faculty of Science, ensuring high-quality teaching, research, and student development in alignment with the University’s mission. This full-time, on-site role based in Anand involves overseeing curriculum design and review, mentoring department heads and faculty, and fostering a culture of academic rigor and innovation. The role includes managing admissions and academic scheduling, monitoring student performance and outcomes, and promoting co-curricular and cultural activities within the Science disciplines. The Principal/Dean will coordinate accreditation and compliance activities, prepare academic reports, and establish partnerships with external institutions and organizations to enhance the visibility and impact of the Science programs. Regular responsibilities also include budget planning for the faculty, participation in university-level governance, and supporting professional development initiatives for academic staff.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Science with minimum 55% & Ph.D.), with a strong record of teaching and scholarly work.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in teaching & Proven experience in academic leadership or administration, such as Head of Department, Principal, Dean, or equivalent roles.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, program design, and quality assurance in higher education.
- Strong skills in people management, mentoring, and fostering inclusive and learner-centric environments.
- Experience with accreditation processes, regulatory compliance, and academic policy implementation.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Experience promoting research, cultural activities, and community outreach within Science disciplines.
- Capacity for strategic planning, data-informed decision-making, and managing budgets and resources.
- Commitment to ethical practices, diversity, and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Familiarity with educational technology and modern pedagogical approaches will be an added advantage.
