About LifeHub:
LifeHub is a homeschooling cooperative — not a conventional school.
Our core focus is helping children become self-directed learners: intrinsically motivated, curious, and
capable of driving their own growth — independent of marks, exams, or external pressure.
Culture is the foundation of everything we do. We have a distinct cultural framework that all staff and
children are trained in, and we expect it to become lived practice — not just understood, but internalised.
This is also a learning environment for the adults who work here. We are looking for people who are
genuinely committed to their own growth, not just skilled facilitators of others'.
PRIMARY GUIDE (Ages 3-6)
Role Overview
The Primary Guide prepares and maintains a Montessori-inspired environment where
young learners develop independence, concentration, and a love of learning through
hands-on work.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom environment with Montessori
materials
• Present materials individually or in small groups using precise, minimal language
• Observe children closely to understand their developmental needs and readiness
• Guide children toward independence in practical life skills (dressing, cleaning,
preparing food)
• Facilitate conflict resolution by asking guiding questions, not solving problems for
children
• Create a peaceful, respectful classroom culture based on natural consequences
• Track each child's progress through observation notes, not traditional testing
• Communicate with parents about their child's development and readiness for new
work
Required QualificationsEducation:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field OR a degree in Early Childhood
Education
• Prior Montessori certification (AMI/AMS or equivalent) is preferred but
not mandatory
Skills & Dispositions:
• Deep belief that children are naturally curious and capable
• Patience to wait and observe rather than jump in to "help"
• Ability to speak softly and use minimal, precise language
• Strong organizational skills to maintain a prepared environment
• Comfort with saying "I don't know—how could we find out?" instead of
providing answers
• Willingness to sit on the floor and work at a child's level
• Grace and courtesy in all interactions (modeling behavior rather than
lecturing)
• Willingness to continuously learn, unlearn, and grow through engagement
with books, discussions, and learning resources provided by LifeHub.
What We're NOT Looking For
• Someone who needs to be "in charge" or the center of attention
• Traditional teachers who rely on whole-group instruction and worksheets
• Anyone who believes young children need constant entertainment or praise
• Guides who use rewards/punishment systems (sticker charts, time-outs,
etc.)
