Pre-Sales Engineer Biometric & Access Control

About the Role
We are looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer who is technically skilled, customer-focused, and passionate about biometric technology and security solutions.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will act as the technical bridge between our sales team and customers, understanding business and technical requirements and translating them into the right biometric identification, attendance, and access control solutions.
You will work with customers across industries including corporates, manufacturing, government, healthcare, education, and other enterprise environments. The role involves solution design, product demonstrations, technical proposals, Proof of Concepts (POCs), system integration discussions, and technical support throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Pre-Sales Support
Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, presentations, and solution workshops.
Conduct product demonstrations and live testing of biometric devices and solutions.
Provide technical consultation and support throughout the sales cycle.
Understand customer infrastructure and identify the most suitable solution architecture.
2. Solution Design & Architecture
Analyze customer infrastructure, business requirements, and security needs.
Design biometric attendance and access control solutions based on customer requirements.
Prepare system architecture diagrams covering devices, networking, software, and integrations.
Recommend appropriate biometric hardware, software, configurations, and deployment models.
Evaluate technical feasibility and identify potential implementation challenges.
3. Technical Proposals & Documentation
Prepare technical proposals, solution documents, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Assist with RFP/RFQ responses, tenders, and technical submissions.
Prepare product comparison sheets, technical presentations, solution briefs, and other sales-support documentation.
Clearly document proposed solutions, specifications, integrations, and implementation requirements.
4. Proof of Concept (POC) & Product Demonstrations
Configure and deploy biometric devices for customer demonstrations and trials.
Plan and execute Proof of Concept (POC) deployments.
Validate solution functionality against customer requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues during demonstrations, trials, and POCs.
Capture customer feedback and coordinate internally for required improvements.
5. Integration & Technical Coordination
Support integration discussions and implementation of biometric solutions with:
HRMS platforms
Payroll software
ERP systems
Access control platforms
Other third-party applications
Understand API-based integration requirements and coordinate with technical teams.
Work closely with product, development, implementation, and support teams to ensure successful solution deployment.
Assist in resolving technical queries raised by customers and partners.
6. Client & Internal Training
Conduct technical training for customers, channel partners, and internal sales teams.
Guide users on device configuration, software functionality, and system management.
Provide technical clarifications before and after product demonstrations.
Create or contribute to technical training and knowledge-sharing material.
Technical Skills Required
Good understanding of biometric technologies, including:
Fingerprint recognition
Facial recognition
Iris recognition
Understanding of biometric attendance and access control systems.
Basic knowledge of computer networking:
TCP/IP
LAN/WAN
IP configuration
Network troubleshooting
Familiarity with API integrations and software platforms.
Experience with device configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Basic understanding of databases such as SQL/MySQL will be an advantage.
Ability to understand technical architecture and translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
