Role Description The Political Researcher will work on-site in Panaji in a full-time capacity, supporting political communications and campaign strategy with rigorous research and analysis. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring news, social media, policy developments, and public opinion trends to identify insights relevant to political clients and campaigns. The role involves gathering and synthesizing data from polls, media coverage, legislative records, and stakeholder communications, and producing clear, concise briefs, reports, and memos for internal teams and clients. The Political Researcher collaborates closely with strategists, communications professionals, and digital teams to inform messaging, voter targeting, and advocacy efforts, and helps assess the effectiveness of narratives in real time. This position also supports scenario planning and risk assessment, identifying opportunities and challenges that could affect campaign outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong research and analytical skills, including experience gathering information from diverse sources, evaluating data quality, and synthesizing complex findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent writing and editing abilities, with a focus on clear, concise, and persuasive political briefs, reports, and strategic recommendations.
- Familiarity with political processes, public policy, electoral campaigns, and public opinion dynamics, including an interest in current affairs at local, national, and global levels.
- Comfort with digital tools and data platforms, such as media monitoring software, social listening tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams in communications, analytics, and creative, and to present findings to non-specialist audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Journalism, or a related field; advanced study or prior campaign/advocacy experience is a plus.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive political and client information.
