Who We Are
Umendra Life Sciences manufactures OTC topical pharmaceutical and personal care products — creams, gels, ointments, lotions — for export markets including the US. Our manufacturing facility is near Bavla, 35–40 km from Ahmedabad.
The Role
We're hiring a Plant Finance Manager to own product costing, inventory reconciliation, GST compliance, and MIS. This is a hands-on role based at the plant, working directly with Production, Procurement, Stores, QA/QC, and Dispatch.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Accounting & Cost Control
- Build and maintain BOM-linked cost cards across all SKUs and dosage forms
- Track standard vs. actual cost variances with Production and Procurement; investigate and close gaps
- Provide product-level margin visibility to leadership
- Validate batch and job costing records
Inventory & ERP
- Own RM, PM, WIP, and FG inventory reconciliation end-to-end
- Ensure ERP entries match physical movement — GRN, consumption, dispatch, returns
- Resolve inventory discrepancies at source; lead periodic physical stock verification
Statutory & Tax Compliance
- File GSTR-1, 3B, and 9/9C independently
- Own ITC reconciliation and resolve mismatches
- Manage TDS filings and maintain audit-ready documentation
MIS & Financial Reporting
- Close books monthly within defined timelines
- Produce monthly MIS: product-level P&L, margin analysis, inventory aging, working capital tracking
- Flag cost variances against budget early
Audit & Internal Controls
- Maintain controls across procurement-to-payment and inventory flows
- Own SOPs for accounting processes; close repeat audit observations at root cause
- Support statutory and cost audits
Requirements
- 8+ years in finance and accounts within a manufacturing organisation (not trading, corporate head office, or distribution)
- Hands-on experience with product costing, monthly book closure, and independent GST filing
- Comfortable working on the plant floor
- Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance). CA Inter an advantage; qualified CAs welcome if suited to a plant-based role
- ERP: Tally, SAP, Dynamics, or equivalent
What This Role Is Not
- Not remote or hybrid — this is a full-time on-site role at the Bavla plant
- Not a corporate finance or head-office role
- Not suitable if GST filing has been handled by an external consultant in your past roles
