Job details:
Company Description Mariterro is scaling to a Multi-crore revenue target this year, across Export (chilled & frozen seafood), Domestic B2B (HoReCa, QSR, private label) and R&D (Ike Pro, Digital Root).
Role Description Mariterro is targeting Multi-crore revenue this year across export, domestic B2B and R&D lines. This role is the financial backbone of that growth - owning accounting and reporting accuracy, running point on strategic investor management as Mariterro engages DFIs and growth-stage investors, protecting liquidity through disciplined cash-flow and working-capital management, keeping the company audit- and export-compliance ready, and instilling cost discipline across a multi-currency, multi-channel business. This is a hands-on owner role, not a back-office bookkeeping function - the Finance Manager is expected to sit close with founders on strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close across export, domestic B2B,Consulting and R&D cost centres, including multi-currency (USD/JPY/EUR) export billing
- Ensure books are audit-ready at all times; act as primary interface for statutory and internal auditors
- Deliver MIS and management reporting (P&L by vertical, budget vs actuals, variance analysis) to CEO on a fixed monthly cadence
- Maintain GST, TDS and export-incentive (RoDTEP/duty drawback) accounting in line with statutory timelines
2. Strategic Investor Management
- Prepare and maintain investor-ready financials, MIS packs and board reporting in coordination with the CEO's investor-relations work
- Support fundraising processes - data rooms, financial due diligence, cap table and covenant tracking for DFI/growth-capital conversations
- Track and report against investor covenants, ESG/impact metrics and milestone-linked disbursement conditions
- Translate business performance into the financial narrative used in investor pre-reads and pitch materials
3. Cash Flow & Treasury
- Own the rolling cash-flow forecast across long export-receivable cycles and cooperative-sourcing payment terms
- Manage banking relationships, export packing credit, LC/bill discounting and working-capital facilities
- Monitor receivables (especially export buyers) and payables (FCS/cooperative payment cycles) to protect liquidity as revenue scales toward Multi-crore
4. Compliance & Regulatory
- Ensure compliance with MPEDA, FSSAI, customs/export regulations and applicable EU/US/Japan/China import-side documentation requirements
- Own statutory compliance calendar - GST, TDS, ROC filings, PF/ESI, and other applicable filings
- Maintain internal financial controls and risk framework as the organisation scales headcount and revenue
5. Cost Control & Business Partnering
- Partner with Export, Domestic B2B, R&D and Operations heads on budgeting, cost-per-unit tracking and margin protection
- Identify and drive cost-optimisation opportunities across cold-chain logistics, procurement and overheads
- Build unit economics and scenario models to support pricing and channel-mix decisions as the company pushes toward Multi-crore
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - strongly preferred, given the audit, compliance and investor-reporting scope
- CMA or MBA (Finance) from a recognised institute considered, with demonstrated equivalent depth in statutory accounting
Experience
- 8–12 year’s total post-qualification experience, with at least 3–4 years in a finance leadership role (Finance Manager / Controller or equivalent)
- Prior experience in export-oriented manufacturing, food processing, agri-business or seafood is a strong plus - multi-currency billing and export-incentive accounting experience is valued
- Direct exposure to investor reporting, fundraising support or working with DFIs/PE-VC investors is a differentiator for this role
- Experience operating in a scaling SME/mid-market company (₹25–100 Cr revenue band) preferred over large-corporate-only backgrounds
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting under Indian GAAP/Ind AS
- Working capital and treasury management, including export finance instruments (LC, packing credit, bill discounting)
- Advanced Excel/financial modelling; comfort with ERP/accounting systems
- Clear, confident communication with investors, auditors and cross-functional business heads
- High ownership and cost-consciousness - comfortable operating in a lean, founder-led organisation
