Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Physiotherapist role based at Apollo Clinic Newtown | Saltlake | Vivekananda Road in the Greater Kolkata Area. The Physiotherapist will assess patients, take detailed histories, and perform physical examinations to diagnose musculoskeletal, neurological, and other functional conditions. Responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing therapeutic exercises and manual therapy, and using appropriate electrotherapy or rehabilitation equipment. The role involves educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, posture, and lifestyle modifications, as well as documenting progress, maintaining accurate clinical records, and collaborating with consulting physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Physiotherapist will also support preventive care initiatives, contribute to patient safety and quality standards, and participate in clinic-based health programs when required.
Qualifications
- Recognized degree or diploma in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution, with current registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional council.
- Clinical skills in assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and sports-related conditions, including manual therapy and therapeutic exercise prescription.
- Experience or training in managing neurological and post-surgical rehabilitation cases, balance training, and functional mobility improvement.
- Ability to design goal-oriented treatment plans, monitor outcomes, and adapt interventions based on evidence-based practice.
- Strong patient communication skills, including clear explanation of diagnoses, treatment plans, and home exercise programs in an understandable and empathetic manner.
- Competence in documentation, use of clinic information systems, and maintenance of accurate and confidential medical records.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary setting, coordinating care with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Commitment to infection control, patient safety, and adherence to clinic protocols and ethical standards.
- Prior experience in a hospital or multispeciality clinic setting is preferred; pediatric, geriatric, or sports physiotherapy exposure is an advantage.
