Role Description The Phlebotomy Technician role is a position based in New Delhi. The technician is responsible for performing venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures, ensuring proper patient identification, labeling, and handling of samples. Daily responsibilities include visiting patients for collection of blood sample, preparing collection equipment, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and following established protocols for specimen storage and transport. The role involves interacting with patients in a professional and empathetic manner, explaining procedures, and addressing basic questions or concerns. The technician collaborates closely with laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to support accurate and efficient diagnostic services.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic laboratory medicine concepts.
- Bike for collection purposes.
- Proficient laboratory skills, including specimen handling, labeling, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Demonstrated competence in venipuncture and other standardized blood collection techniques.
- Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and maintain a calm, reassuring presence with patients.
- Relevant certification or formal training in phlebotomy or laboratory technology, as applicable.
