Role Description The Paint Artist, Roto Artist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Vellore. In this role, the artist will create precise rotoscoping mattes, perform advanced paint work to remove artifacts and clean plates, and support compositing teams by delivering accurate and consistent frames. Daily tasks include reviewing shots for technical and artistic requirements, collaborating with supervisors and other artists to meet project deadlines, and ensuring work adheres to studio quality and security standards. The artist will also participate in feedback sessions, maintain organized project files, and adapt to evolving workflows and tools used in high-end VFX production.
Qualifications
- Strong paint and digital painting skills for cleanup, restoration, and plate preparation.
- Solid foundation in art and animation principles, including composition, movement, and visual storytelling.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with supervisors, peers, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with industry-standard VFX tools (e.g., Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, After Effects, or similar software).
- Ability to follow production pipelines, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail across multiple shots.
- Previous experience as a Paint or Roto Artist in a VFX studio environment is highly beneficial.
- Relevant education in VFX, animation, fine arts, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
