Job Title: OSP Fiber Engineering Project Manager
Location: Remote – NCR Area required
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced OSP Fiber Engineering Project Manager to lead and manage fiber optic engineering and design projects from initial planning through final delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Outside Plant (OSP) fiber engineering, fiber route design, project management, construction coordination, and team leadership.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and engineering standards. This role requires strong coordination with engineering teams, designers, field personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
OSP Fiber Engineering & Design
- Lead and oversee the engineering and design of OSP fiber optic networks and routes.
- Review field survey information, engineering data, maps, and site documentation to develop accurate fiber designs.
- Oversee the preparation and review of fiber route plans, construction drawings, splice diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable telecom, engineering, safety, and construction standards.
- Review designs for accuracy, constructability, cost-effectiveness, and overall project requirements.
- Utilize tools such as IQGEO, AutoCAD, GIS platforms, Google Earth/KMZ, and other OSP design applications.
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage OSP fiber engineering projects from initial scope and planning through design, construction support, and project closeout.
- Develop project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines.
- Identify project risks, technical issues, and potential delays and develop effective solutions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule commitments.
Team & Resource Management
- Lead and coordinate teams of OSP engineers, designers, drafters, field engineers, and other project resources.
- Assign project responsibilities and monitor team performance and deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineering and design teams.
- Coordinate resources, materials, and external contractors as required.
- Promote quality, accountability, and adherence to project procedures.
Budget & Cost Management
- Develop and monitor project budgets and resource requirements.
- Track project costs, productivity, and overall financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors when required.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related engineering and delivery matters.
- Conduct project status meetings and provide regular progress updates.
- Communicate project scope, schedules, risks, issues, and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, engineering teams, and other project stakeholders.
Quality & Documentation
- Ensure all engineering deliverables meet project specifications and applicable OSP standards.
- Review project documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain project records, design documentation, schedules, reports, and closeout packages.
- Establish and maintain quality-control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 9+ years of experience in OSP fiber engineering, fiber network design, telecommunications, or related infrastructure projects.
- 5+ years of experience in project management or engineering project leadership preferred.
- Proven experience managing OSP fiber projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Experience working with fiber route design, construction drawings, splicing documentation, field surveys, and as-built documentation.
- Experience managing engineering teams, contractors, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSP fiber optic network architecture, F1/F2 distribution, fiber routes, splice points, conduit/duct systems, aerial and underground construction, and related infrastructure.
- Proficiency with IQGEO, AutoCAD, GIS-based design tools, Google Earth/KMZ, or similar OSP engineering platforms.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, field notes, survey information, construction drawings, and fiber documentation.
- Strong understanding of OSP construction methods, permitting, material requirements, and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or similar platforms is a plus.

Certifications
- PMP certification is preferred.
- FOA certification or other fiber optic/telecommunications certification is a plus.
- Relevant engineering or project management certifications are also desirable.
