Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Oracle Database Administrator role based in Chennai. The Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases supporting core business applications. Daily activities include monitoring performance, managing backups and recovery, optimizing queries, and ensuring high availability and reliability of database systems. The role involves managing replication and data integrity, troubleshooting incidents, and coordinating with application and infrastructure teams to resolve issues. The administrator also implements and reviews database security controls, supports audits, and participates in database-related projects, upgrades, and migrations.
Qualifications
- Strong Oracle Database Administration and general Database Administration skills, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with replication and high-availability solutions to ensure reliable data access and continuity.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting database issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Knowledge of database security, including access control, encryption, compliance, and secure configuration practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, PL/SQL, backup and recovery tools (e.g., RMAN), and monitoring tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and document processes clearly.
- Experience in financial services or lending environments is an advantage.
