Role Description The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, visual acuity testing, and assessment of ocular health for walk-in and appointment-based customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include prescribing lenses, advising customers on frame and lens options, ensuring accurate measurements, and collaborating with the in-store team to deliver prescription eyewear within short turnaround times. The Optometrist will educate customers on eye health, proper lens use, and follow-up care, while maintaining detailed and accurate patient records. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Yelahanka, requiring consistent presence to support high-paced, same-day eyewear services. The role also involves contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and overall customer experience.
Qualifications
- Formal education in optometry (Bachelor of Optometry or equivalent) and valid professional licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
- Strong clinical skills in refraction, eye examinations, and detection of common ocular conditions, with attention to accuracy and patient safety.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions, recommend appropriate lenses and coatings, and ensure precise measurements for frames and lenses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain findings clearly, counsel customers, and deliver a positive in-store experience.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced retail or clinical environment, with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using basic optometric instruments and familiarity with electronic record-keeping or digital tools.
