Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Bengaluru. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction tests, vision assessments, and screening for common eye conditions. The role involves prescribing lenses, advising customers on suitable frames and contact lenses, and ensuring accurate fitting and adjustment. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, using diagnostic equipment, and collaborating with store teams to deliver high-quality customer service. The Optometrist will also provide guidance on eye health, recommend follow-up care when needed, and support store initiatives to improve overall eye care standards.
Qualifications
- Formal education in Optometry (Bachelor’s or Diploma in Optometry) and registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.
- Strong clinical skills in eye examination, refraction, contact lens fitting, and basic diagnosis of common ocular conditions.
- Ability to use and interpret results from diagnostic equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, and lensometers.
- Effective communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills to explain findings and recommendations clearly to diverse customers.
- Detail-oriented approach, strong record-keeping habits, and adherence to professional and ethical standards in eye care.
- Ability to work in a retail environment, collaborate with sales and store staff, and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace.
- Prior experience in optical retail or clinical eye care settings is an advantage, as is knowledge of current eyewear trends and products.
