We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of our ecommerce operations, fulfilment, inventory, packaging and vendor coordination.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are produced, received, stored, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
You will oversee daily operations while also building stronger systems and processes as the business scales. This is a hands-on role that requires close coordination with the warehouse team, vendors, marketplaces, courier partners and internal teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesEcommerce Operations and Fulfilment
- Oversee order processing and fulfilment across the BeginBird website, Amazon and other marketplaces
- Ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately within defined timelines
- Monitor fulfilment turnaround times, cancellations, delays, returns and RTOs
- Coordinate with courier and logistics partners to resolve delivery issues
- Ensure adequate inventory allocation across different sales channels
- Manage fulfilment requirements for sales, launches and peak periods
Inventory and Warehouse Management
- Maintain accurate stock records across products, packaging materials and sales channels
- Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile inventory differences
- Establish reorder levels and identify potential stock-outs in advance
- Improve warehouse organisation, product movement and space utilisation
- Minimise damages, incorrect shipments and inventory leakage
- Supervise and manage the packing and warehouse team
Packaging and Quality Control
- Oversee the procurement and availability of boxes, labels, inserts and other packaging materials
- Ensure all products are packed according to defined brand and quality standards
- Conduct quality checks on finished products and incoming inventory
- Identify recurring quality or packaging problems and implement corrective measures
- Coordinate packaging changes for new products and sales channels
Vendor and Production Coordination
- Coordinate with manufacturers, printers, packaging suppliers and other vendors
- Track purchase orders, production schedules, dispatches and delivery timelines
- Follow up proactively to prevent production and procurement delays
- Compare vendor quotations and support commercial negotiations
- Maintain vendor records, payment schedules and production documentation
- Identify and evaluate alternate vendors when required
Processes and Reporting
- Build and maintain SOPs for fulfilment, inventory, quality control and vendor coordination
- Track key operational metrics through daily and weekly dashboards
- Share clear updates on inventory, production, fulfilment and operational risks
- Identify recurring bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
- Coordinate with the marketplace, finance, product and customer-support teams
Who We Are Looking For
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Have 3–6 years of experience in ecommerce, D2C, consumer products, marketplace or warehouse operations
- Have directly managed order fulfilment, inventory, packaging and vendors
- Understand ecommerce order flows, returns, RTOs and marketplace fulfilment requirements
- Are comfortable working with Excel or Google Sheets and inventory-management systems
- Are highly organised and strong at follow-ups
- Can manage teams and hold people accountable
- Are comfortable working hands-on in an early-stage business
- Take ownership of problems and solve them without requiring repeated supervision
Experience with Amazon, Shopify, courier aggregators, warehouse systems or consumer-product manufacturing will be particularly valuable.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first three to six months, you should be able to:
- Run daily fulfilment and warehouse operations with minimal supervision
- Maintain accurate inventory across products and channels
- Reduce dispatch delays, packing errors, damages and stock discrepancies
- Ensure packaging and production materials are available on time
- Build reliable systems for vendor follow-ups and production tracking
- Give the management team clear visibility into operational performance and risks
