Role Description – Operational Head
The Operational Head – Manufacturing Operations will be a full-time, on-site role based in Khed, Pune, responsible for leading and managing end-to-end plant operations.
The role will oversee production planning, manpower, machine utilization, productivity, quality, maintenance coordination, delivery, and overall operational performance.
The candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving OEE and productivity, reducing rejection and manufacturing costs, optimizing processes, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
The Operational Head will work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase, Stores, and Management teams to resolve operational issues and achieve business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for manufacturing operations and plant performance
- Production planning and achievement of daily/monthly targets
- Improve machine utilization, OEE and productivity
- Control rejection, rework, scrap and manufacturing costs
- Manpower planning and team development
- Ensure quality and on-time delivery
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor operational KPIs and prepare management reports
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Purchase and Stores
- Support capacity planning and future plant expansion
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in automotive components / CNC machining / precision engineering
- Strong knowledge of CNC, VMC, gear manufacturing and machining operations
- Experience in Production Planning, Operations Management and Operational Excellence
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO systems will be an advantage
- Experience with ERP, production planning and KPI monitoring
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and people-management skills
- Ability to independently manage plant operations and achieve business targets conflict-resolution, and team development skills, with the ability to lead diverse production teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control.
