Role Description The Operational Excellence Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Vishakapatnam, responsible for driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and business operations. This role oversees the identification, analysis, and optimization of processes to enhance efficiency, quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading operational excellence initiatives, facilitating problem-solving workshops, implementing standardized workflows, and tracking performance through KPIs and dashboards. The manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams in production, quality, supply chain, and engineering to execute improvement projects and sustain gains. The role also involves mentoring team members on best practices, supporting change management, and ensuring that operational excellence methodologies are embedded in daily operations.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operational Excellence Lead to drive continuous improvement initiatives across our pharmaceutical injectable manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing, TPM implementation, Six Sigma methodologies, and Operational Excellence frameworks, with a proven track record of improving productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and drive Operational Excellence initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, warehouse, and support functions.
Implement and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars,
Facilitate Lean Manufacturing projects to eliminate waste and improve process efficiency.
Lead Six Sigma Black Belt projects focused on quality improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, and productivity enhancement.
Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement initiatives.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis using Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies.
Establish and monitor KPIs related to productivity, quality, maintenance, cost, and delivery.
Lead Kaizen, Quality Circle (QCC), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Continuous Improvement programs.
Facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence goals.
Develop and deliver training programs on Lean, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies under capability development initiatives.
Support regulatory compliance requirements in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Pharmacy / Industrial Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, preferably in Sterile Injectables / biologics /liquid syrup etc.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Mandatory).
Hands-on TPM (AM & PM pillar) implementation experience (Mandatory).
Proven experience in leading Lean Transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of GMP, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.
