Sherlock Contracting Group is seeking an experienced, organised and highly dependable Operations Administration Officer to support our operations, payroll, client reporting, procurement and document-control activities.
This is a full-time, work-from-home position requiring availability between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and following up outstanding information to keep payroll and operational processes on schedule.
About The Role
Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, you will provide essential administrative support across our projects and operations. The role includes processing weekly payroll, maintaining employee and project records, preparing client reports, coordinating supplier orders and managing plant and equipment documentation.
Payroll administration experience and confidence using
Xero and Microsoft Excel are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll, employee records and approved leave using Xero and Excel.
- Follow up missing timesheets, leave forms, approvals and payroll documentation.
- Prepare data and supporting documents for monthly client claims and invoicing.
- Complete client daily reports and assist with weekly and monthly client reporting.
- Maintain project files, registers, timesheets and document-control records.
- Take meeting minutes and assist with BHP cleaning rosters and schedules.
- Order cleaning chemicals, consumables and site supplies, and coordinate deliveries.
- Maintain plant and equipment registers and coordinate servicing, registrations, maintenance and repairs.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets and other operational documentation.
- Provide general administrative support to the Operations Coordinator and project teams.
About You
You will be a proactive administrator who takes ownership of deadlines and follows tasks through to completion. You will have excellent attention to detail and be confident dealing with employees, clients, suppliers and operational personnel.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Ideally Have:
- Previous payroll or accounts administration experience.
- Practical experience using Xero, particularly for payroll.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and general computer skills.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work independently in a work-from-home environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience maintaining registers, records and controlled documents.
- The confidence to follow up missing information, timesheets and approvals.
- A professional approach to confidential and sensitive information.
- Previous experience supporting operations, projects, cleaning contracts, mining or resources clients will be highly regarded.
- Experience using Aconex or a similar document-management platform will also be advantageous.
Mandatory Requirements
- Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- A suitable home workspace with reliable internet access. We provide laptop and phone but you will need your own two monitors
- A current National Police Clearance (within last 6 months), or the ability to obtain one.
- A current Australian C-class driver’s licence.
- Full working rights in Australia
- Must be a Perth based resident
