About the role
NPrep is India's fastest-growing AI-powered nursing education and placement platform, founded
by AIIMS alumni to democratize quality nursing education. Within 1.5 Years, 1,00,000+ nurses are
actively on the platform — consuming 6M+ minutes of content and answering 31M+ practice
questions. We've raised a $1.5M seed round led by Lumikai, alongside All In Capital, Velo
Partners, and DSP Group Family Office. With 3.2M registered nurses and 800,000+ candidates
appearing for government exams annually, the opportunity is massive. We're building at the
intersection of AI, healthcare, and education — and we're just getting started.
We're looking for someone who believes design can change how a student feels about the grind.
How We Think About Design
Our students study 8–10 hours a day. They're anxious. Many of them are opening an app like ours
for the first time — from smaller towns, from families where no one has sat a government exam
before. For them, this isn't just a test. It's a shot at a different life.
When someone opens NPrep at 6am, we want them to feel like this was built for them. Calm.
Warm. Clear. Every screen we ship has to answer one honest question: does this make the
student feel more in control, more hopeful, less alone?
If the answer is no, it doesn't go out.
What That Looks Like in Practice
● You start with the feeling you want the student to feel, then design backwards. Wireframes
come last.
● You care about what things look like, but more about what they feel like. Real illustration.
Type that has a point of view. Space that lets the eye breathe.
● You think about habits, not just features. The small wins, the daily ritual, the moment a
streak breaks and what happens next.
● You lose sleep over the tiny stuff — a transition that's 20ms too slow, a tap that doesn't feel
satisfying, a success state that should've had a little more joy in it.
● You think about the whole emotional arc — how a student feels when they first arrive,
when they bomb a mock test, when they go three days without studying, when something
finally clicks. Each of those moments is a design problem.
● You test your assumptions. User interviews, usability sessions, behavioral data — you know
the difference between a hunch and a signal, and you chase both.
● You work closely with product, engineering, and content — and you stay in the conversation
well past the Figma handoff.
● You design for people who might be using a smartphone seriously for the first time. Clarity
isn't a nice-to-have; it's the job..
● You think in systems. Tokens, components, motion, illustration — you want the craft to hold
up as the product grows.
● You'll work across mobile (our primary surface) and web.
What We Look For
● 2-3 years of experience in product design, with at least a year on a consumer mobile app
that people actually used every day.
● A portfolio that shows you have taste and emotional intelligence. Show us the shipped work
you're proud of — not the process decks.
● Fluency in Figma. A real opinion on type, spacing, motion, and illustration. The kind of
person who can explain why a 4px change matters.
● Someone who's comfortable starting from a messy brief and finding their way to a clear
screen without needing everything spelled out.
● Uses AI tools to move faster without compromising taste — can turn rough AI outputs into
polished, production-ready design.
● Bonus: You've built habit-forming mechanics that made it to production. You've designed
for users under pressure — in fintech, health, exam prep, or anything where the stakes are
real.
