As part of our growth, we are currently seeking an experienced Senior I&C Design Engineer to join our engineering team for our offices in Pune or Gurgaon.
Role Summary
The Senior I&C Engineer is responsible for the execution and technical delivery of Instrumentation & Control, ICSS, Fire & Gas, and related systems for offshore oil & gas projects. The role provides senior technical support across engineering activities, coordinates with other disciplines and vendors, contributes to design development and technical reviews, and ensures compliance with project, client, and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assigned I&C engineering activities in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and schedules.
- Develop, review, and technically evaluate instrumentation and control engineering deliverables.
- Provide technical input and support in resolving engineering issues and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinate technical interfaces with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecom, Safety, and other disciplines.
- Review vendor and package documentation and support effective system and package integration.
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, design reviews, and other technical workshops.
- Ensure I&C designs comply with project specifications, applicable international codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Support the development and review of instrumentation, control, ICSS, Fire & Gas, and related system designs and documentation.
- Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and offshore activities as required.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and other project stakeholders on technical matters within the assigned scope.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Support the Discipline Lead and Discipline Manager in the execution of engineering activities and resolution of technical issues.
- May act as a technical focal point for specific engineering activities or systems within the assigned scope.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in I&C engineering, preferably within offshore oil & gas projects.
- Proven experience in a Senior I&C Engineer or equivalent technical engineering role.
- Strong experience in Instrumentation, ICSS, Process Control, and Fire & Gas systems.
- Good knowledge of hazardous area design and functional safety, including IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
- Experience with vendor/package engineering and multidisciplinary technical interfaces.
- Experience in engineering design, technical reviews, and development of project deliverables.
- Strong analytical, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams and manage assigned technical responsibilities.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
